I wake up in the morning and whack on the sexy cream, and I'm ready to go ;)

I need your help. Well my tv is busted so going out to get a new one
Probably this one

Now to just clarify before I make the jump to the checkout. I also have a surround sound system which is through the AV amplifier. Now if I want to get the lush 1080p I'll have to connect my ps3, 360, sky straight to the tv as the amp only outputs to 1080i :@

Let's make the scenario: I connect my PS3 via HDMI into the tv thus getting a 1080p image. As I know HDMI carries not only video but also audio. If I then Put a optical cable into the tv output then into the amp, would it give sound through my amp and not the tv?

Does the PS3 not have an optical output?

Yes it does, but If I were to have the HDMI into the tv then the Optical into the Amp. Which cable would dominate audio output?

You can set which output to use for audio in the PS3 settings ;)
